Thanks Annie! No worries...we won't use the salt & pepper on you and Justin. ;)

Honestly, can you believe what comes out of Ted Turner's mouth? If it weren't so tragically sad it would be funny.

Thanks for commenting Elizabeth! Welcome to RSSBinghamton. I hope you continue to comment more.

I'll confess I'm no scientist, and don't know much about anthropogenic global warming and the IPCC. I depend on people smarter than me to shed light. What I do have is a healthy dose of common sense, and my common sense tells me a few things about this issue: (1) taking an average temperature for the earth is not all that easy (see the appendix in Michael Crichton's book "State of Fear" for a discussion of it); (2) Even if the earth's average temperature is going up (something not proven!), it does not immediately follow there is a connection between man-made CO2 emissions and the rise in temp; (3) the biggest producer of energy, and the biggest influence on the earth's weather, is the sun, and the sun's energy is cyclical measured in years and decades.

Bottom line: We haven't even BEGUN to figure out earth's climate and how it changes over time...and why. So we're going to change our behaviors--and start to control people's lives down to the light bulbs they can use--on fanciful theories? It is mind-blowing to me that people can be so easily fooled.

Again, thanks for commenting and please comment again sometime!

There is something that could be used as a proof for global warming. The theory that CO2 causes AGW requires that the air in the mid-troposphere above the tropics warm faster than at the surface. This creates a ‘hot spot’ called the global warming ‘fingerprint’. This hot spot is in the climate models and is shown in the IPCC AR4 chapter 9 with pretty graphs. What the IPCC doesn’t show is the graph of the actual atmospheric measurements. Any idea why that is? That’s right. The hot spot does not show up on the satellite data. The atmospheric fingerprint does not match CO2 forcing. I would think that this fact would invalidate the CO2 causing AGW hypothesis. The problem is that the issue is political. Note that the UN (IPCC) and Al Gore are above all else political. Too many people staked their reputations on CO2 causing AGW long before all of the facts were in. This group includes most of the main-stream media. Since then, they have been scrambling to enact massive changes that can be credited with stopping the warming, which may have already stopped ten years ago.

Anyone who believes that the polar bears are on the verge of extinction, Tuvalu is being swallowed by the sea, Kilimanjaro glaciers are melting (sublimation is not caused by global warming), the Antarctic is warming, and temperature follows CO2, needs to do some serious reading. I am continually amazed by people allowing their children to be indoctrinated by the cult of global warming without any more knowledge than that in “An Inconvenient Truth”.

Thanks Brent! Wow, if a seed turns into a tree, does that mean I'm "green" after all? ;)

Great job, Jim. There's so much information out there that shows the fallacies...Thanks for bringing some of it to the forefront. A seed planted often turns into a tree.
