New York Taxpayers Shoveling Out $1B for Daycare

Good grief. Did you know that New York State taxpayers fund daycare for $1 billion??? This is astonishing and amazing to me! Is it any wonder our state is going down the proverbial rathole?
I read in this morning’s Press & Sun-Bulletin that the county executives across New York have made a new budget request from Gov. Eliot “The Don” Spitzer (please daddy, can we PLEASE have some more money?). This time they want money from the state (i.e. from a different taxpayer pocket), to the tune of $432 million, to help fund state-mandated pre-kindergarten programs. It is costing New York State $1B each year to “educate” 80,000 K-3 and K-4 “students”. Which of course is nonsense. They’re indoctrinating little crumb-crunchers with our money! It’s nothing more than state-funded daycare for 80,000 kids. This is OBSCENE.
Here was my comment on the “story chat” at the P&SB website:
Correction: It is not “the state” that pays the bill, it is state taxpayers paying that $1B for K-3 & K-4 programs (a truly astonishing amount). How about this novel approach: Free public education starts at Kindergarten, the way it used to, and if you want to put your kids in a K-3 or K-4 program, you PAY for it. What we have now is taxpayer-funded daycare. The state (i.e. taxpayers) should NOT be paying for K-3 & K-4 programs period! Problem solved.
Folks, if this one doesn’t get your blood pumping, nothing will!

I met at a party recently a woman who works for a quasi-private “foundation” that qualifies recipients for daycare reimbursement.
This agency goes so far as to provide cars and drivers for welfare recipients to travel to Utica to see their families! This seemed perfectly normal to her, and her reply when I questioned the logic of spending tax money was “Well, if it keeps someone from going crazy and shooting up a school, I’m all for it.”
That’s the logic we’re dealing with here–namely there is NO logic.
The woman, to keep here 40K year job spews the usual liberal talking points and mantras. The word brainwashed could be used.
There’s no reasoning with types like these. There are no reasons left, and they can’t cope with the truth as that would jeopardize their phony-baloney jobs.
